Fujitsu has started the development and deployment of the system that connects the artificial intelligence track cameras, increasing safety at the Nuerburgring racetrack. The initial plan is for 2.8 km of the Nordschleife track section, where only radio contact with the marshals has ensured safety.

In case artificial intelligence detects a potential issue, relevant triggers are sent to RaceControl and, oncoming traffic is provided via trackside displays. The Nordschleife track is the most famous track of the Nuerburgring’s two racetracks. It is a 20.8 km track, having a total of 73 turns that also includes blind corners, drops, and significant elevation changes. The Fujitsu solution is based on cameras set up by Nuerburgring that are connected to RaceControl via fiber optic cables. Fujitsu is developing an AI-based system to monitor all the video feeds in real-time and detect potential dangers where any.
